MBSE Essentials

Learn MBSE in a new way:

Take your first competence step towards becoming an MBSE professional. MBSE Essentials gives you an introduction on how to use models in systems engineering. You will get an overview on many graphical description techniques and we explain how you can combine them with the right methodology to support your unique development and product lifecycle. You will also learn how to combine and use models to create an effective architectural description of your system-of-interest. The course also addresses model management and model-based systems engineering management.

This course draws from long practical experience on how to use models in development work, but also on new research within MBSE management from KTH and NISE. MBSE Essentials is equally suitable as a first standalone introduction to MBSE, or as a module in the Nordic MBSE School. The course is conducted in partnership with TM&C.

Audience

Our introduction course in MBSE targets you who have some previous knowledge of systems engineering or product creation, and want to take a competence leap to obtain a better understanding for the basics of using models in systems engineering, or how MBSE can be planned, introduced and lead in complex technical projects and development organisations.

Outcome

MBSE Essentials gives you a deeper understanding for model-based systems engineering and its relationship to the lifecycle processes in systems engineering. You will also learn how to create a structure for your system description adapted to the needs of your system and project-of-interest. We will also show you how to select effective description techniques that helps to keep a close eye on your most critical risks, uncertainties, and success factors.

This course gives you a deeper understanding for the planning and management aspects of model based systems engineering, and focuses in particular on issues related to the tailoring and introduction of model-based techniques. MBSE Essentials provides a value driven approach to MBSE and demonstrates tools to increase the benefits of MBSE for your organisation and its customers.

The course is a course module in the Nordic MBSE School but also suitable as a standalone introduction to MBSE.
